What if I fall asleep during my treatment?
• Here at The Spa Ritual our goal is to help you leave the outside world behind and with it your worries and stress. If we can help you to relax enough that you fall asleep, this is a compliment to your service provider. You’ll still get the full benefits of your treatment and the added benefits of a catnap.
Am I allowed to request the gender of my service provider?
• Absolutely—based upon availability at your treatment time choice, it is our pleasure to offer a mix of service providers to accommodate our Guest requests. All service providers are fully qualified and trained to address the concerns of our valued Guests, especially on coverage or draping. Draping is done in such a way that sensitive areas are covered during treatments at all times.
• When booking a therapeutic or deep massage don’t be fooled—both male and female massage therapists, petite or otherwise, are trained to apply as much, or as little, pressure as you wish.
Can I bring my child or teenager to the spa?
• At the Spa Ritual we encourage Guests of all ages to enjoy our services. To alleviate any apprehension for your child’s first spa visit, ask our concierge about parent/child side-by-side services in a room designed for two or more.
Why do I need to arrive 20 minutes before my spa treatment even begins?
• We ask our Guests to arrive 20 minutes prior to their treatment time in order to have time to fill out a necessary Health History form. Health History allows your service provider to provide for your safety and allows them to customize services appropriately. We are pleased to provide state of the art facilities to allow for you to relax, shower, steam and clothe for your treatment. Please take the time to enjoy our Som’ta relaxation lounge where we have books to stimulate your imagination as well as teas, beverages and healthy snacks. Part of your spa experience is taking the time to slow down and relax.
Will it hurt my service provider’s feelings if I ask them to adjust the pressure or change something they are doing?
• We are all here to facilitate your path to rejuvenation—if at any time there is something we can do to make you more comfortable, please communicate those preferences.
• Pressure is easily adjusted to suit your specific concerns or expectations. Please speak up: let your Therapist know if you would like a deeper therapeutic treatment or a lighter more relaxing experience. All of the qualified Therapists at The Spa Ritual are fully trained to adjust their pressure to suit the individual Guest needs.
Why do I need to fill out a Health History form and why do they ask so many personal questions?
• Your service provider is committed to providing safe and effective treatments and to do this they need to gather any pertinent health and personal information.
• Depending on the service you are to receive, they may ask: What areas of your body may be sore today? What you do for a living? Are you claustrophobic? What you do for a living may give them insight to repetitive tasks that may be causing body soreness or stiffness, and claustrophobia may not be the best fit for a snug body wrap treatment. Trust your service provider they are gathering this information to serve you better.
• Please know that we are committed to Guest confidentiality and privacy.
What happens when my service provider leaves the room once my service is complete?
• Your service provider will leave the room once your service is complete to allow you time to readjust. They will get you a glass of water and come back to discuss any homecare advice or treatment observations. Please don’t jump up to quickly to get your robe on as this could bring on a “head rush”, but please don’t take a ten-minute nap either. Your service provider will knock before they reenter the room.
